China air combat drill: 3-rd generation fighters perform air-to surface attacks

China’s East Sea Fleet recently conducted flight training composed of different courses to test the performance of fighters and capabilities of ground service and pilots’ continuous combat ability.

Divided into two teams, dozens of home-made third-generation fighters took part in the training courses such as aerial fighting and air-to-surface attacks. The two teams combated each other and carried out deep ocean assault flight training.

“The intensive training took over 10 hours. Every pilot and aircraft must be dispatched continuously and it is a tough challenge for the aircraft, ground staff and pilots,” said Xiao Wensheng, political commissioner from a flight regiment from the East Sea fleet.
