NSA ‘planned to discredit radicals over web-porn use’

The US authorities have studied online sexual activity and suggested exposing porn site visits as a way to discredit people who spread radical views, the Huffington Post news site has reported. It published a document, leaked by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, identifying two Muslims said to be vulnerable to accusations of “online promiscuity”. An official said this was unsurprising…. Read more →

Dan Savage Suggests ‘Mandatory Abortion’ for 30 Years To Reduce World Population

On Monday, Australia’s world famous Sydney Opera House hosted its annual “Festival of Dangerous Ideas” where gay activist Dan Savage, notable for his anti-bullying campaign It Gets Better, expressed his Malthusian inspired solution to our crowded cities when an audience member posed the following question:

Which so-called ‘Dangerous Idea’ do you think would change the world for the better if it were implemented?

Savage responded promptly:

Uh, population control, there’s too many goddamn people on the planet!

After the audience immediately erupted into thunderous applause, Savage continued:

You know, I’m ‘pro-choice’, I believe that women should have the right to control their bodies. Sometimes in my darker moments, I’m ‘anti-choice’. I think abortion should be mandatory for about 30-years.

The audience responded not with groans or boos, but with amused laughter. Dan Savage’s vehement dedication to anti-bullying has earned him visits to the White House on several past occasions.

The Senate took a bipartisan step toward approving the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, a law that would ban discrimination against gay workers. To examine the divide within the GOP on gay rights issues, Jeffrey Brown speaks with Gregory Angelo of the Log Cabin Republicans and Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council.

NYT: No Religious Exemption for LGBT Employment Bill

On Tuesday, The New York Times editorial board revealed its true agenda in supporting the Employment Non-Discrimination Act: the desire to compel religious believers to abandon their traditional ethical tenets in favor of the Times’ superior moral universe. After declaring their support for the ENDA, which supposedly fights discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in the workplace by giving goodies to trial… Read more →

Planned Parenthood Takes Texas Abortion Fight to Supremes

Planned Parenthood Takes Texas Abortion Fight to Supremes

Planned Parenthood and other women’s health activists are taking their fight against Texas’s new abortion restrictions to the U.S. Supreme Court. The groups filed an emergency petition today to reinstate an Austin federal judge’s Oct. 28 ruling that the new limits were unconstitutional and shouldn’t be enforced. An appeals court had overturned the judge’s injunction, allowing the state to enforce the law… Read more →

A new book, titled The Book of Jezebel, edited by feminist website Jezebel creator Anna Holmes, uses humor to demonize children and anyone who is pro-life.

The book calls children a side-effect of sex, babies a potentially life-threatening condition like AIDS, and provides this warning to women who use the “morning after pill”: “Be careful! The women who take these, ‘have been painted as sluts and abortionists by social conservatives.’”

The book defines misogyny thusly: “Exemplified by God, Aristotle, Phyllis Schlafly, Rush Limbaugh, The Republican Party, Allen West.”

Nephews, the book says, are “a good reminder to use birth control.” Condoms are “a must-have accessory for protection against two potentially life-threatening conditions: AIDS (among other STIs) and babies.” But the book loses the humor when it talks about abortion, which it calls “a safe and legal way to end an unwanted pregnancy.” The term pro-life, the book says, is “objectively bogus.” Holmes is the newest contributor to the New York Times Sunday Book Review.

The book has been plugged and praised all across the mainstream media. Time Magazine featured an “exclusive excerpt,” which was introduced by Ms. Holmes herself; The Daily Beast praised the book as a  “coffee table bible for middle-class feminists everywhere”; USA Today enjoyed the “encyclopedic tome filled with hilarious, female-centric definitions on everything from popular movies, to virginity, to acne,” and NPR featured three positive reviews written by three different people.

Gay ‘divorce’ jumps 20pc as ‘seven year itch’ hits civil partnerships

Gay and lesbian ‘divorce’ jumps 20pc as ‘seven year itch’ hits civil partnerships

It comes seven years after the introduction of same-sex civil unions in 2005 and six years after the number of couples forming them peaked.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics also showed that lesbian couples are markedly more likely to dissolve civil partnerships than gay men.

Family lawyers said that the patterns mirrored those for heterosexual couples in which marriages which break down typically do so between four and eight years in, with women are more likely to file for divorce than men.

According to the ONS there were 7,037 new civil partnerships formed in the UK last year, a 3.6 per cent rise on the previous year.

The rise came at a time when the debate about legalising same-sex marriage was at its height.

… Almost six out of 10 dissolutions involved female couples.

Transgender 6-Year-Olds in Bathroom Spur Repeal Effort

The law, which takes effect Jan. 1, requires all schools receiving state funds to let children choose between boys’ or girls’ bathrooms, for instance, and participate in sex-segregated sports teams based on… Read more →
