The Justice Department did more than seize a Fox News reporter’s emails while suggesting he was a criminal “co-conspirator” in a leak case — it did so under one of the most serious wartime laws in America, the Espionage Act.

It’s the same law used by the Nixon administration to go after The New York Times and Daniel Ellsberg over the leak of the Pentagon Papers. It’s the law used to charge the Rosenbergs, American communists, for allegedly passing secret information to the Soviet Union — they were executed for the offense in 1953.

Report: Justice Department has seized phone records of numbers tassociated White House staffers and Fox News reporters besides James Rosen.

Riots in Stockholm’s suburbs continued for the third night after the fatal shooting of a 69-year old man by Swedish police triggered street violence. The shooting took place on 13 May with riots ongoing since Sunday 19 May. The rioters consist mainly of young people who say they are protesting against police brutality and inequality in Sweden. Rocks were hurled at police and cars have been set alight.

Overnight, shots were fired from Syria at an IDF patrol. IDF forces returned fire, reporting a direct hit on source of the attack. The IDF will continue to operate day and night in order to keep Israel’s citizens safe.

The Oklahoma City Medical Examiner’s Office says the death toll from a massive tornado that churned through Oklahoma City Monday has been downgraded from 51 to at least 24.

“To date, 24 deceased victims of the tornado have been transported to our Oklahoma City Office, and positive identification have been made in the vast majority of those, and these are ready for return to their loved ones,” spokeswoman Amy Elliott told FoxNews.com in an e-mail.

Seven of the bodies are children.

Elliott said during early recovery efforts, 51 deaths were reported to the medical examiner’s office, but some of them may have been double-counted.

Senior WH aides knew about IRS probe, Carney says

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Denis McDonough, President Obama’s chief of staff, was among a handful of senior aides informed of the Treasury inspector general’s findings that the IRS was targeting conservative groups for heightened scrutiny in their tax-exempt application process – but insisted he did not intervene in the “ongoing” investigation, or tell the president.
