India successfully test-fires nuclear capable missile

Scientists of India’s Defense Research and Development Organization on Wednesday, successfully test-fired the country’s long-range missile, Agni-IV, from the Wheeler Island, off the eastern coast in Odisha. The missile, 20 meters in length and weighting 17,000 kilograms is capable of carrying nuclear warhead to targets more than 2,485 miles away. In recent years India has emerged as the world’s top importer of military hardware as it rushes to upgrade equipment for a large but outdated inventory of its defense forces.
