Japan, China Islands Fight Ramps Up After ‘Illegal’ Landings

Protests have broken out in China following the actions of a Japanese group. Sky News has the story.

“Japanese activists have landed on a group of disputed islands at the center of a territorial row with China. Around 10 protesters swam ashore and raised Japan’s national flag on the Senkaku Islands.”

This comes just a few days after Chinese activists took similar action, and set off a series of protests across the Chinese mainland. NHK explains.

“In Shenzhen, another city in Guangdong Province more than 1,000 people gathered in the city center. The demonstration turned violent with some people breaking windows of a building that houses a Japanese restaurant.”
