The effort to end Walker’s tenure was forced by labor union and Democratic opponents furious with Walker’s efforts to limit public sector unions’ collective bargaining rights. In a speech following the victory, Walker thanked his supporters.
WALKER: “Because I believe more unites us than divides us… I believe for the sake of our children and our grandchildren, now is the time to come together.”
