(multimedia) On Friday, thousands of protesters have gathered in downtown Chicago leading up to a two-day NATO summit that is expected to draw even larger demonstrations. Many office buildings were closed as workers were warned to stay home. (May 18)
Over the weekend NATO protests in Chicago, Illinois are expected to bring the city to a standstill. The Chicago Police Department has spent over $1 million dollars to battle the protesters from across the world expected to descend on the Windy City.
